Data We Collect

Quiz and Profile Data

When you complete our compatibility quiz, we collect the following information:

  • Birth date — used to generate your astrological profile and compatibility insights.
  • Birth time (optional) — used to refine your astrological chart with ascendant and house placements.
  • Birth location — used for accurate astrological calculations based on geographic coordinates.
  • Email address — used to deliver your quiz results, waitlist updates, and promotional communications.

Automatically Collected Data

We may automatically collect certain information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages viewed. This data is collected through analytics tools and is used to improve our services.

Local and Session Storage

During the quiz flow, your in-progress responses are temporarily stored in your browser's session storage. This data exists only for the duration of your browser session and is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab. We use session storage rather than persistent local storage to minimize the window during which your data is accessible on your device.

No sensitive personal information is stored persistently in your browser. Once you submit the quiz, your responses are transmitted to our backend and removed from session storage.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate your personalized astrological and compatibility profile.
  • Manage your position on the Stellr waitlist.
  • Send you quiz results, product updates, and promotional emails.
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our services.

Email Communications

By providing your email address, you consent to receive transactional emails (such as your quiz results) and occasional marketing communications from Stellr. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by clicking that link or by contacting us at privacy@stellr.app. Please note that you may still receive transactional or service-related communications even after opting out of marketing emails.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only with the following service providers, strictly for the purpose of operating our services:

  • Supabase — our backend infrastructure provider. Your quiz responses and account data are securely stored and processed through Supabase's hosted PostgreSQL database and Edge Functions. Supabase adheres to SOC 2 Type II compliance standards.
  • Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — used for website analytics and performance tracking (see "Cookies and Tracking" below).

We may also disclose your information if required by law, to enforce our policies, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Stellr, our users, or the public.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies via Google Tag Manager to collect analytics data. These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our site, measure campaign effectiveness, and improve the user experience.
